LIFESTYLE CHANGE IS POSSIBLE
CHANGE is tough but so is a Heart Attack. We all know that eating right, getting some exercise and relaxing our reaction to stress will show up as a better health. Better health is a difficult thing to become enthusiastic about because we don't see the results of bad behaviour right away. It's only after the heart attack or stroke that most of us tend to make the lifestyle changes required for healthy living.
Eating a healthy diet that is lower in salt and fat, especially saturated and trans fats, being smoke free, limiting alcohol use, being physically active and reducing stress are also important to lowering the risk of stroke and heart disease. Talk to your health-care practitioner about how you can achieve these lifestyle changes and incorporate the suggestions in the DASH (*Dietary Approaches to Stopping Hypertension) program to get started NOW!
